The best knowledge is the knowledge of Quran. We see ourselves reading certain surahs more frequently than the others. It could only be for one reason that our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ has advised us to do so in Ahadith.

When someone tells you to read a particular surah for a specific count, it is your duty to search thoroughly either it was done by the prophet ﷺ or not, before starting to act upon it.

For this purpose, we have decided to start a thread, In sha Allah, through which we will be discussing the significance of one surah of the Quran everyday.

We start with the very first Surah of the Quran, which is read everyday, in every prayer.

Surah Al- Fatiha

This Surah was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ when he was in Makkah.

Names of this Surah:

1. The opening الفاتحة

2. The prayer الصلوة

3. Al-Shifa

4. The key

5. Ummul Quran

6. Saba masani (The seven verses)

How is Surah Al Fatiha important?

1.This was the first complete Surah of the Quran.

2. It is so important that Allah has asked you to read it everyday, in every Salah, in every Rakah!

If, by the will of Allah, you are regular in offering prayer , then you read Surah Al Fatiha 36 times. (This includes sunnah rakat as well) subhan Allah!

3. It means your salah is not complete without Al- Fatiha!

4. It is a part of Ruqya, when read 7 times and blown, it gives shifa (healing)

5. It teaches us how to communicate with Allah, and what to look for in our duas. We must always be asking for Allah's guidance.

6. Surah Al Fateha is a short summary of the whole Quran.
